I adopted my cat Skitter from my veterinarian. He had been at the clinic for several months and they needed to find a home for him. He was 18 months old when I got him.
He is black and white domestic shorthair and weighs approximately 14 pounds. When I first brought him home he was a little skittish so we named him Skitter.
Another good name for him would be Slinky. When he is frightened he slinks along the floor/ground and if he gets really scared he runs straight for his food dish! When he’s not being afraid he is limp as a dish rag.
You can hold him on his back and play him like an accordion. Everyone that comes to my house can’t believe how limp he gets. Once I put a harness on him and it was hilarious.
At first he just fell over and when he finally figured out he could stand the only direction he would go was backwards. He also likes to play with a laser light.
His favorite treat is the little dab of milk that’s leftover in the bowl after I have cereal. He is a very loving cat and begins to purr if you so much as say his name. When he wants outside he will claw on my chair but not use his claws, just uses his paws to get his message across.
If I pat my chest he will jump up into my arms and roll over on his back for a belly rub. He also likes to be patted real hard on the belly and then he’ll rabbit kick my hand and grab my arm with his front paws and act like he’s going to bite but he just barely puts any pressure on my arm. He’s a great cat and is one of a kind.
